The Grumman’s ES-11 Cat’s Eye was the principle tactical airborne early warning (AEW) aerospacecraft of the UN Spacy during the First Robotech War. The ES-11D was designed for operation both in an atmosphere and in space, though it wasn’t until well after the war that the plane fully replaced the E-2 Hawkeye in atmospheric operations. In an atmosphere, the ES-11 made use of two engines along either side of the dorsal-aft fuselage while in space it used two wing-mounted fusion reaction engines for propulsion and maneuvering. A very small crew of one pilot in the aft seat and radar intercept officer in the front seat work in the cockpit of the ES-11.
