Only a few examples of these mecha were found post Battle of Reflex Point. It is unclear if this was an early prototype for the Gosu “Royal Command Battloid” or if it was a follow on version. What is known is that it was built to accommodate a human form Invid pilot and was armed with an exceptionally large energy cannon.

Jisaina Li Battle and Defense Robot

Armored Walker Type 1, Jisaina LiJisaina Li (AW-BD1 Armor Walker) Battle and Defense Robot

by Tim Wing

The Jisaina Li Armored Walker was a heavy assault mecha used by the Zentraedi. Roughly twice the wieght of a Regult Battle Pod, it mounted four heavy particle beam cannons and six multi-purpose laser cannons. Compared to the Regult, the Jisaina Li was slower, non-jump capable and had only limited abilities to maneuver in space. It made up for this with massive amounts of armor and firepower. The Jisaina Li was a common sight among Zentraedi Garrison forces on Tirolian Mercantile Empire colony planets where there were none pacified indigenous populations. Though not seen during the First Robotech War, some were salvaged by insurgent groups and used during the Malcontent Uprisings.

  • 1 x EU-9 rapid-fire pulse laser
  • 1 x Battery of sixteen Hammerhead short range missiles with various warheads and guidance packages.

VIII. Armor.

The armor of the AHT-1 Armored Hover Transport is composed of an advanced titanium-steel alloy. The armor stops all small arms fire, provides good protection against heavier infantry weapons, such as a 12.7mm machinegun round, and fair resistance to light mecha-mounted weaponry, such as the Zentraedi 22.3mm HE autocannon round.

The AHT-1 provides full protection from nuclear, biological, and chemical hazards, using an overpressure crew compartment environment activated by radiation and hazardous chemical sensors, or manually when biological warfare conditions are anticipated. The internal consumables supplies can provide atmosphere for two weeks maximum.

IX. Development.

The Steyr-Daimler-Puch AHT-1 Armored Hover Transport was a light armored troop and material carrier developed in the post-war period. It had a one man turret which could accommodate an EU-9 rapid-fire pulse laser or an M2 .50 Machine Gun. This vehicle could carry an eight man infantry squad, in addition to its crew of driver, truck commander and gunner.

The AHFV-1 Armored Hover Fighting Vehicle variant was armed with a PT-2B double-barreled plasma turret, an EU-9 rapid-fire pulse laser, and a battery of sixteen Hammerhead short range missiles. This vehicle could provide cargo caravans with some fire support in the planets wastelands without drawing a large amount of resources. This vehicle helped keep the supply lines open against marauding Zentraedi and scavengers as not many groups wished to face the onslaught of the AHFV-1’s significant armament.

Golg Savas (AG1) Shuttle/Anti-ship Aerospacecraft

by Tim Wing

The Golg Savas Gunship was a late Zentraedi Border Fleet littoral designed specifically for protecting garrison worlds from Invid capital ships and troop carriers, in the absence of Zentraedi battle groups. Though the Golg Savas was based on a fast transport shuttle, with its two heavy ion cannons, it was more than able to engage and destroy Invid ships. The Golg Savas had a five man crew, plus it retained its passenger compartment and was able to transport up to fifty full size Zentraedi. At 420 meters long it was roughly the same size as a UN Spacy Oberth-class Destroyer.

Soarovela (A-FP1) Aerospace Fighter Pod

Fighter Pod Type 3
Soarovela (A-FP1) Fighter Pod Aerospace Fighter Attack Plane

by Tim Wing

Fighter Pod Type 2The Soarovela (disgnated the A-FP1 by the UEDF) was the forerunner to the modern day Gnerl Fighter Pod. The lineage is obvious, as the Gnerl was a development of this original type. Its primary distinguishing features are the split canopy, three missile ports on each side and the bottom, and the lack of the Gnerl’s all spectrum sensor suit on the nose. The Soarovela entered service in the early 16th Century, and as of the First Robotech War had been all but replaced in main-line Zentraedi Fleets by the Gnerl.

Микоян МиГ-33 Истребитель аэрокосмический

229 Mikoyan Gurevich MiG-33 (UEDF Reporting name: Fineline) Aerospace Fighter

by: Tim Wing

The MiG-33 (UEDF Reporting Name: Fineline) was the first fighter to emerge out of the post Robotech War Eastern Block Soviet Independent States (EBSIS). Designed as a trans-atmospheric fighter/interceptor, the Fineline could reach low Earth orbit under its own power, or could be boosted into high Earth orbit on top the tried but true R-7 launch vehicle (the R-7 is the same launch vehicle that carries the Soyez orbital vehicle into
space). The Fineline utilized a lifting body design with rather rudimentary control surfaces. By the time of the Invid invasion, the MiG-33 could still be found in limited numbers in the Soviet Air Defense Force, where they served as on-standby rapid deployment interceptors. For this reason, Finelines were among the first Earth forces to make contact with the Invid.

Kivan’yar (AC-GS) Armored Carrier/Gun System

by: Tim Wing

The Kivan’yar Mobile Gun System was a Zentraedi wheeled combat vehicle armed with a 526mm impact cannon. The Kivan’yar filled much the same role as the WWII tank
destroyer. It was lightly armored, fast, and had a massively potent main weapon system. Kivan'yar AC-GS Armored Carrier Armored Gun SystemTroop Carrier 2By the time of the First Robotech War, this vehicle had mostly fallen into disuse. Its main gun was certainly overkill for any mecha fielded by Invid forces… or UN Spacy forces for that matter.
