FRB-7 Cyclops Battloid Reference File

1B ARR-15S MonocleFRB-7 Cyclops Battloid

by Tim Wing

Designation:

FRB-7 Cyclops Force Reconnaissance Battloid1

TC-REP Monocle, (The Unofficial Robotech Reference Guide identifies the Cyclops as the Monocle, however there is no basis in the source material for this name… which is a bummer. I liked Monocle much better.) GMP Multi-Purpose Battloid2 (The 1st Edition Robotech RPG identifies the Cyclops simply as the GMP Multi-Purpose Battloid. This mistake was made due to the fact that in episode 41, the Cyclops is seen in a joint GMP/TC Recon Division task force. However, the soldiers standing near the Cyclops were all in TC-RD armor, not GMP armor.

Canonicity

The Cyclops is canon, having appeared in Robotech episode 41. There is no written information on the Cyclops, and even the origins of the rather limited animation sheets are unclear. The primary source of speculative non-canon appears in the 2nd Edition Robotech RPG.
