The Animepolis Bioroid anti-gravity aerospace transport, or Bioroid scooter as it was commonly referred to as, was a space combat platform for the Bioroid mecha. The scooter was designed and fielded before the more common Bioroid skysled, and was optimized for space combat. The craft was designed around a single plasma-shock expansion thruster. This thruster gave the scooter significantly better acceleration in space, plus the craft carried enough reaction mass to give it over twice the delta-V of its skysled counterpart.

The scooter’s configuration had one drawback, in that it was an inherently more stable design. Because of this, it was inferior in maneuverability to the skysled. Additionaly, the scooter only had one mounted weapon system: one ion pulse cannon. This ion cannon only had a yield of 8 MJ, as compared to the 20 MJ of total transferred energy offered by the skysled’s dual ion cannons. Still, even when these short comings are taken into consideration, it is unclear why the skysled was used almost exclusively during the Second Robotech War. The scooter’s superior delta-V should have made it the better choice for space combat.
